In or last post we caught you up on the beginning of a very busy last couple of months in the life of our golf pro, Travis Glass. If you missed our first post you can read it here.
Picking up where we left off (with the completion of a week-long Certification run by the PGA of Canada: “Coaching Developing Competitors”) Travis headed to West Palm Beach to play PGA Nationals Championship course, which holds a PGA Tour event each year (Honda Classic). Following this excitement, Travis headed back to Port St. Lucie, Florida as a guest speaker at The Keiser University College of Golf & Sport Management where he spoke to students about his experience as a golf pro in the industry. His discussion included highlights in his work with Eagle Valley Golf Academy, US KIDS Golf, pro shop work, giving lessons, junior clinics, competing, and tournament operations.
Here is a photo of Travis Glass with The Keiser University College of Golf & Sport Management instructor, Mr. John Callahan (PGA of America class A member and golf digest top 100 instructor) and Ms. Donna White (coach, LPGA class A member, former LPGA tour member and recent inductee in the LPGA hall of fame).
Finishing Travis’ trip down south was the opportunity to play Orange County National. This location is known for housing the PGA tour Qualifying school. This was a great way to round out his trip and it allowed him a chance to stretch his legs in preparation for the 20 or so hours of driving that were ahead of him!
In total Travis traveled from January 16th to February 8th and added about 7100km to his car.
He would then spend the next five days teaching Eagle Valley Golf Academy students before flying off to China.
Stay tuned for more!
